The various consorts and servants made way, and the Cormorant Hunters both made grand, sweeping bows before the King and Queen before abasing themselves. The room was amazingly decorated, the walls bearing murals of fierce battles between various ancient Cormorant royalty and the Raiders of old. The sun shone in through a stained glass window that served also as a skylight, casting gorgeous jewel tones on the battle scenes, and the royals were seated in thrones in the center of the room, on a dais.

Morgan looked blankly at the two hunters. He didn't realise that the royalty of this place was so highly revered, but nonetheless, he simply knelts down upon one knee, resting by his arm on the other, and lowered his head to look at the floor, once again like a man about to be knighted. One could very easily see the blades jutting out in awkward (Or seemingly so.) positions from him, and his cape rested limply upon the ground, shuddering whenever a passing breeze came by.

Reality shifted, and the very light about everything here bent and twisted, as if some unknown force was controlling it. And indeed it was. With a flash, a black void appeared, dragging Morgan into its depths. As suddenly as it came, it disappeared, leaving nothing in its place.

There was an uproar; a lot of strange things happened in Beyond, but someone being snatched out of the confines of the Royal Cormorant Nest wasn't one of them! Each Hunter had their bows or Krai staffs to the ready, and the royalty were surrounded in order to protect them, but it seemed that whatever had brought the stranger here had come to take him back just as mysteriously. Shaking their heads, talking angrily among themselves, they made note of his name in case he ever returned.

Cyprien, who had been out talking to Avians among her clutch as she often did, returned to the palace some time after Morgan had disappeared, and blinked as a few of her hunters abased themselves and immediately began telling her of the intruder. She cocked her head at them as they recounted the events, before motioning for them to rise. "Well, you have done very well in this matter, and I am sorry that I was not around to deal with such a guest. Should he return, please report it to me, but otherwise do not concern yourself further. You have my sincere gratitude, my hunters," she said with a smile that was returned by the Cormorant Hunters before they returned to their nest. Despite her cheer, though, she frowned slightly at that news. It would be very bad for their own Lawgiver as well as the other Clutch's and possibly even for her friend Subtle and her family. Deep in thought, she returned to the audience chamber and took a seat on her throne as she thought over what needed to be done.

Arriving outside the Royal Nest, Shadow smiled; it'd been a year or so since she'd seen any Cormorants, and had quite forgotten how vividly blue their skin was. She'd always wanted to touch one as a child, and had never quite gotten over the silly notion. She just wanted to see if they felt as beautiful as they looked. Shaking herself and focusing on the task at hand, she trilled a greeting to the guards and asked for an audience before the Queen, telling them she had urgent news.

The guards, of course, recognized Shadow as the princess of Ormrland and bowed respectfully. "Of course, your Highness. One moment, if you please," replied one of the guards before entering the throne room to inform Cyprien about the request. Cyprien agreed immediately, of course, and sent him back to Shadow quickly, eager to hear what Shadow had to say.
The guard returned outside a few moments later, and then bowed again. "Please follow me, your Highness," he said, and then beckoned for her to follow him into the audience chamber. As he approached the throne, he abased himself as was proper, though Cyprien waited barely a few seconds before she gestured for him to rise again. "Thank you, you are dissmissed," she told him with a smile, and the guard nodded, bowed respectfully to her again, and then promptly left the room.

(From Millifiori's Grove)
Kazleth landed a while later, still cradling Jackfylt to him, and immediatly found a guard. Pulling him aside, he showed him the apparently Cormorant child, and told him, "I found the babe in Millifiori's Grove. Please let me speak to the Queen Cypriene, and found out if he belongs to your Clutch." The guard nodded, and went off to seek his queen.

Cyprien had been patiently awaiting Shadow's message when one of her guards entered the room and abased himself. She raised an eyebrow at that, but motioned for him to rise anyway. "What is the matter?" she asked curiously.
"Lord Kazleth wishes to speak to you, Reine, about an important matter regarding a possibly lost Clutch member. He says that it is urgent," the guard explained, and Cyprien frowned slightly. She hated to leave a princess of Ormrland and the daughter of her best friend so suddenly after she had come to deliver a message, but she could not forsake matters of her own Clutch. A missing Clutch member was very important, indeed.
She turned to look at Shadow again, and then apologized. "Forgive me, Shadow, there is something I must attend to quickly. Please, make yourself comfortable and I will return as soon as can be permited," she explained, before rising from her throne. She flashed a smile at Shadow before being led out of the room by her guard.
It wasn't long before Cyprien found herself before Kazleth, and she nodded respectfully at him. "1st Lieutenant Kazleth, it is a pleasure to welcome you as my guest," she began, and then caught sight of the small bundle of blue in his arms and moved in closer. The scent was unmistakably Dragon, with a strangely familiar scent mixed in, but he was blue skinned like her Clutch. He didn't have wings, which he thought was strange, but she smiled at him anyway. "And who is this cute little child?" she asked curiously, smiling down at Jackfylt. She tickled his chest lightly with her thin fingers, and then looked up at Kazleth again.

Kazleth bowed his head in greeting to Cyprien, before looking back up at her, that stern, military look still plastered on his face, as always. He gave the guards a look and, even though they weren't technically under his command, they left the room, leaving Kazleth with Cyprien and Jackfylt. "His scent is wrong, I know," Kazleth said, in a quiet voice. "But he looks like a member of your Clutch. I fear something odd will come to Ormrland if he is left there, and I know no one else better suited to care for him." He looked at Cyprien seriously, with something else in his eyes. "Please, Queen Cyprien, accept the little one. He'll fit in here."

Cyprien nodded in agreement, but she sensed nothing dangerous about the child and her intuition was generally very good. She looked down at Jackfylt again, and then gently stroked underneath his chin. "Indeed he does," she began with a blank expression. "I am not sure if he is a Cormorant, for the lack of wings is strange and he reeks of Dragon. However, I will not take the risk of turning away someone who may be kin to my Clutch in some way." Then, with a bright smile, she added, "And, besides, he's such a cute little baby!" She took the bundle from Kazleth's arms, kissed Jackfylt on the forehead lightly, before cradling him close to her chest. "I would be happy to take care of him, Kazleth. I've always wanted a little child to spoil, anyway," she said with a small grin as she lightly tickled Jackfylt again. "Does he have a name?"

Kazleth nodded. "He appears to be Cormorant. If any of your Clutch members had dealings with Dragons, it wouldn't be all that strange..." He looked down at Jackfylt, who had fallen asleep on the flight over here and was still snoozing peacefully. "He's taken to being called Jackfylt. Thank you, Queen Cyprien." Kazleth bowed his head, before turning to leave. As he did, he muttered, "Tell me if you have any problems with him, now that the little bastard made me feel responsible..."
Kazleth spread his wings and took off again, becoming a black dot in the sky before too long.

Cyprien nodded, and then shook her head with a smile as Kazleth left. He may very well have been too proud for his own good, not abasing himself before a Queen as was customary, but he was a good soldier nonetheless and Cyprien was one of, if not the most, laidback Queen in Beyond. Once Kazleth was gone, she looked down at Jackfylt again and smiled at him slightly, before waving a guard over.
"Take this baby and put him under the best care my Consorts can provide. He is to be given everything they deem he needs, and I will see to him when my business with the Ormrland royalty is done," she ordered mildly, and the guard nodded and bowed respectfully before taking the baby from her arms and quickly leaving the room.
That matter attended to, Cyprien returned to the throne room and looked at Shadow apologetically again. "Again, please forgive me, Shadow. I hope I wasn't gone too long," she said with a sheepish smile before sitting down again.

Shadow had been lost in concentration. The soldier that had come in to fetch the queen about...a lost clutch member?...his scent was off. It was only faintly so, as though perhaps it wasn't his scent that had been off, but someone he'd come recently into contact with. She focused herself and tried to discern the nature of the oddity in the scent he bore, so much so that when the Queen returned, she nearly jumped out of her skin. Her nose wanted to wrinkle as the Queen herself seemed bathed in the scent, but like the soldier, it wasn't her own that had gone awry.
"Your majesty," she asked slowly, trying to keep a growing sense of distress at bay and remain courteous, "I don't mean to pry, but... that lost clutch member?... I'm sorry, but there's a scent, something...wrong, here. I caught the scent of..." Her eyes widened a bit, then dismissed the idea. It couldn't be him!

"He's not full-blooded Cormorant, no," Cyprien replied smoothly, for that much was obvious. Her tone and expression cooled slightly, her dark eyes flashing; she didn't like others taking offense to those under her care. She knew Shadow was just being cautious, but it irked her. Certaintly she wouldn't have thought that herself, a Queen, would have missed a scent as obvious as Jackfylt's? Regardless, Cyprien turned out no one who had no intention of harming her Clutch, and, honestly, how could a baby ever cause any harm? "However, Shadow, I do not turn away hopefuls, much less newborn babies. Anyone may find shelter amongst my Cormorants so long as they do not intend us harm. And, do tell me, how a newborn babe, no more than a day old could cause any trouble? Moreover, you should know that he has Dragon blood in him. Would you turn away one of your country's own?" She paused for effect, but she pushed away her dark expression for a calm smile.
"Besides, I have accepted him as my son, and he shall be treated as thus. What happens in northern Corbettes du Mer is Cormorant business, not Dragon or Crow, and, while I appreciate your concern, I do not appreciate anyone questioning me about my dealings with my own Clutch," she continued, and that, too, happened often. Many rebuked her as a foolish Queen, not vehemently but at least in jest, for how laid-back she was and how she accepted anyone and everything into her Clutch so long as they did not intend harm. That truly irked her, but when she spoke again she was completely back to her cheery self. "Now, you said that you had a message for me? How is your mother doing, by the way? I haven't spoken to her in ages."
