Roland stood still, not saying much, just listening to the goings on. He was still waiting for the response from the Royals, who seemed to be beating around the bush, though he could understand why. He was a new face, confronting beings of far greater power than he, about a subject he didn't really seem to have any business knowing. That, added with the fact that he hadn't revealed his intentions or anything about himself, he could understand the skepticism of the King and Queen. But that aside, he was still waiting, wondering how the Royals would go about telling them what he had already begun to figure out. All in all, he was just wondering how the hell they managed to do it.

Striker bristled at Bjorn's words; damned close to insubordination. The woman in her knew he was hurting, and likely was close to just storming out, only she knows that he wants answers as much as anyone else. The soldier in her just chaffed at the way he addressed their Queen, especially considering how they'd summoned the royals from dead sleep...ack...for some reason, that word just seemed the worst possible word to use right there. At any rate, unlike the other two Doubting Thomas', she knew the royals would disclose everything, because not only did everyone have a right to know what they knew, but both she and Bjorn were the most highly regarded generals in all the armies of Ormrland. Both were personal friends and trusted with the lives of the royals themselves.

Steele, stands up quickly. his eyes glare hard at Bjorn and he sighs angrily. "First off General Bjorn, you will mind that insubordinate tone of yours, second, we have to verify that this Roland character, isnt somehow springing a trap." He then levels his blade at Roland and breaths his blacklightning upon the blade, and the blade then stores the energy as it crackles with blacklightning. "Well sir what are you Friend or Foe?"

Sighing softly, there was a reason his name was Steele and hers was Subtle, it would appear. Laying a gentle hand on his, she whispered, "My love...bear in mind the news we only just recieved today, and that they have yet to know or understand; can you recall the reason we were sleeping?" Her admonition was gentle but firm. To Bjorn, she said, "Fear not, General Bjorn, we are not withholding information. We have only just learned this morning what caused this reality upset, and," turning to Roland, she said, "Because you are a stranger to our land that not even our top generals appear to know, we suspected you were the one who triggered this deep magic. Forgive our suspicion, but surely you understand?" Something dawned on her even as she spoke, and her eyes went wide. Who was the only non Native person who was not here in Ormrland that was here before, and whose disappearance seemed quite unusual?

Roland almost seemed fazed by the Kings actions, the blade at his throat. ALMOST. But if the King were really had intentions to kill him, he would have done it already. So instead of being his usual self, and responding his His Highness in a way that would surely cause a decapitation, he turned to the Queen. "I understand, but I'll let you know, that even though there's no recollection of it, General Renegade does indeed know me. SHe may deny it now, but that's understandable, considering. But she knows. But as I said, I do understand your suspicion, but I will tell you now, in the most sincere of ways, I am not to blame for this. I am as curious to this happening as both the generals, which is why I am here right now. I just hope that you and the King will be able to explain things." He gave a smile, his body relaxing, resisting any expression of intimiation.

Striker swallowed hard at his words, and her heart jumped into her throat. There was that feeling again, that not only should she know him, he was someone important, but to save her own damned life, she just couldn't place him. She didn't know if the explanation the royals were about to give would clear that up for her, but at least she'd know why today felt like the first day of her life, not that that made any sense at all. She did give him credit; he knew better than to sass them, which was more than she could say for a lot of offworlders who thought they were powerfull in their own right, enough to challenge the Ormrland royalty. She recalled Cronis, that idiot time traveler, and then was shaken; how could she remember him, but not Roland? How, in fact, could she remember all the people she knew, but not him? It was eating her up inside, and clearly it wasn't doing a damned thing for him or Bjorn. What a night this was shaping up to be.

Bjorn lowers his head, at Steel's admonishing. "My appolagies Majesties, i was overly anxious, and i didnt mean any disrespect. he then looks back up at The Queen at the mention of sleep, for he too felt as if had been awakened from one of the darkest nightmares in his life, but for the life of him he couldnt remember it. so he stands at an at ease posistion and his eyes stay foreward as he waits for either of the Royals to coninue with the explanation.

Steele, upon hearing his Mate's words, remembers why they were sleeping, and once again the flashbacks crash in on him like a thousand tons of bricks. his hand drops his blade, and his left eye twitches, the words "Last chance" shout at him from inside his mind. his legs give way, and he falls to his knees. he nolonger hears anything anyone is saying now, as the flashbacks consume him, he falls all the way to the floor, breaking his nose as he lands nose down upon Striker's floor. the flashes consist of him hovering in the air, with his own blade sticking all the way through his chest, then the words. This sequence continues until once more his mind threatens to snap and the darkness begins to cloud his vision once more. but it doesent come fast enough. his eyes turn black, as madness begins to take him. he jumps up off the floor, not grabbing his blade, his body shifts to hybrid form, and he growls feraly. all of his humanity has been replaced by pure instinct. he roars loudly, and then as if some scared animal he bolts from the room, out into the night.

"STEELE!" Subtle cried out, horrified. The family Madness was only supposed to be on her side of the family, but for whatever reason, Steele was susceptible to it as well; perhaps one of the times the twins, Souls and Subtle had used the Sigh of Souls to revive him, a bit of each of them had imprinted on him. In any case, she snatched up his sword and said, "If you value your lives, don't follow us," and raced outside, her wings snapping out the second she was outside, and flying close enough to him that the spell would be effective, she thundered "IMPETUS IMOBULUS!" This might not have worked when they'd fought in the Abyss vs. Dark, it might not have worked during the Wraith War, but now that she had the magics of no less than five different races at her command, she was a force to be reckoned with. Even in his feral state, Steele would be hard pressed to avoid that spell and its effects.

Roland just watched, wondering what the hell that was all about. At least he wasnt face to face with a sword anymore, although at this point,t hat might have been better. Now the royals were gone from speaking distance, and all hell had broken loose. Great day to come back, eh? He sighed, just keeping his eyes on what was going on, trying to figure it out.

Striker grabbed her swords from their scabbards and said, "Sorry, boys, but the last time those two went Mad, Subtle almost ATE him." She wasn't going to kill Steele, she wasn't out to kill either of them, but if he got feral enough, she knew it wouldn't take much to push Subtle over the brink as well, and she'd be damned if she stayed here while the royals killed each other in Madness. She raced out after them, hoping Bjorn had his wits about him. She didn't expect Roland to help, how could he, but she hoped he wouldn't leave while they were out, either.

Well with all the noise that this has made surely someone's attention is cought. and as Bjorn races out right behind Striker, he sees one of the Guard patrols. Bjorn stops long enough to shift to hybrid form and Roar loudly and give the clairion call to Summon Misery, and the Blue army, they are going to need all the help they can get, and takes to the air, he flies high up into the air, and off in the distance, he can see the royals and he takes off after them, and for the first time in his life, be it the adrenaline pumping through his viens, or just the absolute need to defend and protect the Royal couple, he breaks the sound barrier, and the sonic boom thusly created, carries all the way to the palace. and Bjorn easily catches up with Steele, and then bypasses him. he intends to land infront of his King, and try with all his might to catch him, and subdue him, before Steele either hurts himself, or another. he doesent draw his blade however as he would die before raising his blade against his King, or his Queen.

Subtle is slightly distracted when she hears the sonic boom; Striker must have followed. She's shocked to see it's not her, but Bjorn, and he lands in front of her mate. Damn it all, she told them to stay put! Putting on a burst of speed herself, she lands between them, so that at the current rate of speed, Steele will either stop or run her down. She had a few seconds, and she looked over her shoulder and shouted, "STAND DOWN, General, that's an order!" There was no one but she, the twins, and possibly the younger twins, who could break the hold the Madness held on Steele, and while she appreciated his valor, she wasn't going to let him be killed... again. She cried out at that thought, remembering how Bjorn had been killed, and nearly lost it right there, but she pulled herself together and turned to face Steele. She began to hover in the air, a blue glow emanating from her like an aura, and she keened as though she'd lost him again. Warbling, keening, singing a song of dispair and loss, she appealed to the side of him that might still be aware that he was hurting her in a way he never wanted to. He could mow her down in the next few seconds, but she was singing like her life depended on it, with a subliminal countermelody that begged him to come back to himself, come back to her.

Hearing that sound stops him cold. he actualy slides to a screeching halt directly infront of his mate. he then hits his knees again. not being affected by magic was one thing, but not being affected by his love for her, was quite another, even his feral side couldnt sidestep that mournfull sound. it sliced into his heart like a hot knife through butter. he then hits his knees before her as if in total supplication. but he roars out the absolute most hurt and mournfull sound he is capeable of, he finaly lets loose with his pain, and anguish, and self loathing, for the vision of his own suicide not only pains and disgusts him, but angers him terribly at his own alleged cowardice. this sound he emenates would jerk a tear out of the coldest most heartless villian alive. he then after useing so much energy, collapses upon the ground out cold.

Striker is nearly shot down from the sky when Bjorn flies past and breaks the sound barrier; since when can anyone but HER do that?? She's grounded, though, at the sight of her King. She lands at once, staggering under the sound of first her Queen, making the sound her heart made when... WHEN BJORN DIED! The memory hit her like a tidal wave, and she too crumpled to the ground, out cold with the shock.
