As mentioned above in Avian Allies and Enemies, Dragons and Avians have always enjoyed a peacefull and mutually beneficial relationship. Dragons have no real enemies, but you know the saying; the enemy of my friend is my enemy. Dragons even go so far as to host the annual Fall Hunt, dedicated to locating and destroying any and all Raiders that can be found. The Cormorants of course are the most avid hunters of them, so the Dragons make certain to keep a place of honor for their friends in the Hunt, which is followed by a huge feast and celebration.
Rogue Avians who are executed are given the ultimate punishment, which is denial of entry. In effect, the death penalty imposed by the clutches contributed to the Raider population. There are fewer Raiders these days, but as the Law has not changed, new Raiders are made every now and then. As such, there is never a lack of Raiders for the Hunt, though most members of ever clutch and Ormrland are able to escape their mindless hunger at all other times of the year.
Dragons who die and do not enter the bodies of the patriarch of their families simply cease to exist. There is no trace of soul matter unless the Dragon was truly evil, in which case, the Dragon can become a wraith. In the case of the King's evil twin, Dark Steele, he hated his brother so much for banishing him to the Abyss that when he died, he lived on as The Wraith Dragon. After Steele had been married to Subtle for a short time, he escaped the Abyss with other minor wraith Dragons and other foul denizens to wage a war on Ormrland. He was defeated, and there have been no wraith Dragons to plague the world since.
